First, fly out to Bear Glacier –Read About That Amazing Experience Here – before flying out to Aialik Glacier. From Bear Glacier, you will cross through a beautifil mountain pass to explore the Harding Icefield. Look for beautiful mountain peaks to jut out of the snowy expanse.
Then, fly down Aialik glacier. Aialik Glacier is an impressive tidewater glacier with a huge ice face that descends directly into Aialik bay. Hover above enormous crevasse and explore the ice face. This intimate experience will truly show you the breadth and depth of some of Alaska’s most majestic glaciers.
Then, Circle around the toe (where Aialik glacier meets the ocean) and watch for calving pieces of ice. On the floating pieces of ice, keep an eye out for sunbathing seals.
